SpiderOak is a company that's been around for over a decade now. In technology, a decade feels more like a century in progress.

Since I joined the company a bit over 4 years ago, we've accomplished a lot, changed and improved many things, and learned a fair share of lessons. We've been quiet technically on the public front.

Sometimes building things in the dark is exactly what you need to do, and we do our fair share of that. But sometimes it's important to share, too, as we go. We want to be better at balancing those two sides of the coin, so we decided to start an engineering blog for the company.

The goal is to share the technical ups and downs we go through, why we decide to go in a given direction, the pitfalls of adopting certain technologies, processes, etc.

So without further ado, welcome to our engineering blog.
